You May Have Seen

Ishgard

✰ A sour-faced woman with Duskwight tattoos has opened up an office for Legal Advice in a less-respectable part of town.✰ A pale woman in dark, modest clothing visiting the Veterans Center or the Firmament, specifically seeking the company of one particular man.✰ Bookish and patient, she teaches mathematics and reading to the children at Sacred Hope Orphanage several times a week.

Sharlayan

✰ Arriving at the resurgance of the Dragonsong War, not lacking for talent in Astrology though without a knack for healing.✰ An unexpected skill in Egi-Summoning in both theory and practice. She left abruptly several years ago - did she ever really fit?

You May Have Heard

Ishgard

✰ The only son of House Vigneaux is recently married. His wife is a minor country cousin from House Dzemael. The wedding was small and private with only immediate family in attendance.✰ Enguerrand de Dzemael has recently passed. His once-estranged foster children returned home to care for him in his final years.✰ A spectre is terrorizing Ishgardian nobility suspected of illicit behavior and cruel treatment. The sound of jingling keys accompanies them, lending them the nickname of The Chatelaine.

Sharlayan

✰ Barred from studying Summoning after a strange aetheric incident.✰ Arrived abruptly one day several years ago without anyone to vouch for her. She petitioned for the chance to study and managed to prove her way in. Somehow.

When you're born in a burning house, you think the whole world is on fire. But it's not.-Richard Kadrey, Aloha from Hell

About

Brighid was fostered as a ward of Ishgard's High House Dzemael while her parents - a Gridanian duskwight carpenter and Coerthan stonemason - were engaged in several lengthy and demanding building projects for the house. In the household of Enguerrand de Dzemael, she was initially groomed and educated in the arts of a ladies' companion. It was a good prospect for a young woman of her station - ultimately, however, her sharp mind and and introspective nature led her down a different path. Eventually, she was able to gain admittance to Ishgard's Aethaenium Astrologicum to aid the war effort by studying and tracking the coruscation of the dragon star.Shortly after the Calamity, however, she departed from Ishgard quietly, venturing to Sharlayan for further instruction in Astromancy and whatever else the nation of scholars had to offer her.Initially, it did not seem as though Brighid would ever return to the country of her upbringing. The Restoration, however, brought her home to see to some lingering familial issues - and to help her forge a new future for herself. One of her own making unbound by the expectations of her past.

Finding a Connection

Hooks

Ducaille Law Consultants - The small Ishgard-based law and contract consultation firm is a one-woman show. For now. Specializing in the serpentine tangle of Ishgardian inheritance and business law, Brighid is known for making a nuisance of herself to get paperwork filed, and for having a terrier's nose when it comes to finding and exploiting loopholes. The Stars That Sing - Fellow Ishgardian Astrologians may recall a mercenary student and worker at the Observatorium - highly adept at tracking the movements of the dragonstar to detect Horde activity but never satisfied with merely looking through a telescope. Her departure after the calamity may have left rumors in its wake.As Heavy As Stone And A Bone-Chilling Cold - A member or affiliate of House Dzemael, or well-versed in the intricacies of High House family trees? The foster-daughter of country cousin Enguerrand de Dzemael may be known as someone recently returned to ishgard to care for her ailing foster parent and assume control of his estate.Noble or lesser noblewomen of comprable age may remember her as a candidate presented as a companion of suitable rank - how they remember this potential companion may be left up to them.City of Ivy - in the Sharlayan motherland, Brighid studied Sharlayan Astromancy as well as the theories surrounding Summoning. Fellow scholars of these schools in Sharlayan may know of her interests as well.Audthildr's Bane - Brighid is the twin sister of Ser Breandan Ducaille, a Convictor Knight recruited into the Knights Dragoon at the close of the war. Their physical resemblance alone makes the connection not difficult to make due to her brother's connections in the city.Wine and Roses - Brighid's courtship/engagement with Silvestre de Vigneaux - the adopted heir to a minor house in service to House Durendaire - is not well publicized, but may be known due to the aforementioned's charity work with war veterans. She assists both with managing the books at his center, Drachenhome as well as the family vineyards in the shroud.Sacred Hope Orphanage - Brighid spends much of her time teaching lessons to the orphans of this run-down brume orphanage. People with shared interest in improving the lives of Ishgard's unfortunate may find her there.
